Oppo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled a new technology called MeshTalk that will allow users to communicate with each other over short distances without relying on Wi-Fi and cellphone or Bluetooth signals. Oppo launched this fresh function at the 2019 MWC in Shanghai.
Oppo said this feature of MeshTalk will be added as an integrated function to all Android devices. Compared to the original, this fresh function can be called a modern-day walkie talkie with a big operating spectrum. If two individuals are within a radius of 3 km from each other, voice calls, voice emails or text messages can interact with each other.
This type of communication technique can be a helpful instrument in distant regions where connectivity problems are faced by individuals and where the web or cellular services are not working correctly.

Oppo’s press representative said, “We sometimes meet extreme circumstances when there is no network coverage at all — for instance, when you’re just arriving at an airport in a foreign nation or when you’re on an off-road journey or attending a concert, a football match or an exhibition, this technology provides a solution to those scenarios where other network connections are not available.”
In addition, MeshTalk can demonstrate to be a helpful instrument for readily communicating with individuals in emergencies or natural dangers where the country’s network system gets damaged or interrupted. It will also assist a group of individuals who want to remain in contact while visiting distant locations such as Pakistan’s northern regions without depending on any other network.
