A Pakistani team left a positive impact in International Robotics Competition and we can help to praise their efforts

Often times, we neglect Pakistanis in terms of technological advancement and progress terming them as incapable of leaving a mark anywhere in the automation arena. However, a team from Pakistan proved it wrong.

Despite lack of opportunities, Pakistan managed to compete in the first edition of the International Competition for Autonomous Running Intelligent Robots. The competition was held in the Beijing Science Center over the weekend in which 33 teams armed with exceptional skills all around the globe participated.

In general, an assessment of the abilities of each individual robot as well as making them compete with the other robots was the main thematic display. Every team showcased its genius, innovation and a streak of creativity with extraordinary professionalism which made it hard for the judges to mutually agree on one winner.

Woven into the fabric of a field task competition, the robots were supposed to perform nine challenging tasks; kicking objects, crossing obstacles and getting by a crossbar on a fixed track being three of them. Divided into two systems; challenges (standard) and advancement (free), the competition aimed to analyse the strategic approach designed by the team itself with algorithm optimized.

In order to display some truly awe-inspiring works of engineering, a robotic exhibition (deduction) was also arranged.

The robotics team of four students from Tsinghua University and one from the University of Lincoln grabbed the first prize worth $10,000 for their splendid recital at the competition. The fact that Pakistan participated and was considered a notable team in the competition indeed deserves true appreciation.

The whole competition aimed to promote the integrated development of chip and robotics-related new technologies while enhancing the interests of the youngsters to study artificial intelligence, chip designs and robotics control.

This also reflects the technological enthusiasm intrinsic to Pakistanis indicating that despite almost no resources in store, Pakistanis can definitely excel through their fine skills and unmatchable dedication in any corner in the world.
